Vodafone has started searching for a new chairman, according to press reports at the weekend. Sir John Bond, who became chairman four years ago, is expected to be replaced before next year's AGM. The reported move follows a minor revolt by shareholders at this year's AGM, although it appears that Vodafone's decision had been made before then.
Former HSBC chairman Sir John joined Vodafone as a non-executive director in 2005 and replaced Lord MacLaurin as chairman in 2006.
