Vodafone offers online backups for home and business PCs

With the Danger Sidekick’s problems still in the news, it’s probably not the best week for a mobile company to launch a new online storage service. Still, unlike the Danger service, this one isn’t for mobile phones – it’s for desktop and laptop computers.

The new offering comes from Vodafone, it’s called Vodafone PC Backup and it’s been created in partnership with Seattle’s Decho Corporation – best known for its Mozy backup service. Vodafone PC Backup will enable customers to simply and securely copy work-related or personal digital content from their computer to a remote site via fixed or mobile broadband connections. It’ll be available later this year. [Vodafone press]
