Vodafone UK has run a number of Free Fridays promotions this year, giving away online browsing, Facebook access, music tracks and text alerts.
Today (Friday 20th) it's celebrating World Hello Day by letting consumers send free international texts all day long. That's people in the UK sending a SMS to people with non-UK mobiles who are abroad.
It's the second piece of SMS news from Vodafone this week; the network has also introduced a 'retweet' text service for UK Twitter users. Texting RT and a Twitter username to 86444 (for example, RT thefonecast) will retweet that user's last message. Each text message sent will be charged at the customer's standard tariff rate.
