Vodafone says new APIs will "redefine the mobile internet experience"

In a press release headed “Vodafone to Redefine the Mobile Internet Experience”, Vodafone has launched a new initiative that’ll help content providers and developers to create mobile internet services for all its 289 million customers. It says it’s letting developers offer their applications to all Vodafone customers and will also let them charge via Vodafone’s billing system. At the moment it all sounds rather like an operator-run application store. [Press release]
