Vodafone UK has increased its support for businesses that have adopted the ‘bring your own device’ practice. It’s offering a service called Vodafone Secure Device Manager that makes it easier for larger businesses to connect smartphones and tablets to their corporate networks whilst maintaining security.
The service is operated through a management portal and can be deployed through the cloud or as an on-site solution. It’s suitable to use with company-owned handsets or with employee-owned equipment.
Peter Boucher, Enterprise Commercial Marketing Director at Vodafone UK, said “In today’s highly competitive and technology-obsessed marketplace, businesses must adopt new devices that help them work smarter, but in the midst of so many cyber-threats and security breaches some companies are cautious about new innovations. Vodafone supports British businesses by offering simple-to-use services that give organisations the confidence to make best use of business enhancing technology. Vodafone Secure Device Manager is part of Vodafone’s on-going commitment to help businesses find better ways of working.”
Vodafone Secure Device Manager is powered by AirWatch. As well as offering remote management it also protects lost or stolen devices with the options of locking or remotely erasing corporate data. The software is available for most major mobile operating systems including Android, Blackberry, iOS, Symbian and Windows Phone.
