Vodafone UK launches a smartphone leasing scheme

Last year O2 UK introduced a smartphone leasing service called O2 Lease. The package enabled a customer to have a ‘free’ Apple iPhone on a 12-month deal; at the end of the lease term the customer could return the phone and set up a new lease agreement - or they could give the phone back and walk away.

Vodafone has now joined the consumer leasing market with ‘Red Hot’, which also offers a phone, tariff and insurance for a single monthly payment.

Unlike the O2 deal, the Samsung Galaxy SIII and Galaxy Note II are available in addition to an iPhone.  Some models and tariffs have no up-front charge while others involve an initial payment.
