Vodafone UK moving 'pay as you go' tariffs to per-minute charging

Vodafone UK has told its ‘pay as you go’ customers that it’s moving away from charging for standard calls by the second. From 1st August, customers will be charged per full minute for calls to UK landlines and mobiles.

For example, a 90-second call will be charged as two minutes

In an online announcement, the company said “Calls on Pay as you go are getting simpler from 1 August 2013. No more complicated pricing by the second – just clear, straightforward per minute charges.”

Orange, T-Mobile and Three’s pay as you go tariffs already use per-minute charging, while some other mobile networks have a minimum call charge.
