WIN plc drops commission from charity SMS campaigns

Mobile entertainment and information provider WIN plc says it’s going to stop charging commission for charity SMS campaigns run via text shortcodes. The company says up to 30% of charity text donations are currently spent on network and third party delivery charges. It hopes other service providers and networks will follow suit. CEO Graham Rivers said “A concerted move by all players to ensure charities get the full gift will create more confidence in consumers and hopefully lead to a greater number of donations being made via text message.”
