100 million people use Google Maps on their mobile phones every month

Google Maps for mobile, which launched less than five years ago, is now used by more than 100 million people a month. The figure was revealed by Vic Gundotra, Google's Vice President of Engineering, in a blog post yesterday.

Many of the company's most-recent mobile mapping innovations have debuted on the Android operating system, including the turn-by-turn Navigation service and a new Places search.

Google Maps for mobile is available on Android, BlackBerry, iPhone, Symbian S60 and Windows Mobile devices via m.google.com/maps.
