Apple becomes the world's first 3 trillion dollar company

US-based tech company Apple has become the first business to reach a $3 trillion (£2.2 trillion) valuation on the stock market. Its shares reached a value of $182.88 each on Monday 3rd and hit $182.94 on Tuesday, although they dropped slightly by the end of daily trading. That's around a 5,800% increase since the unveiling of the first-ever Apple iPhone in 2007.

Apple was valued at $1 trillion in August 2018, increasing to $2 trillion two years later.

Microsoft is the only other company with a valuation of over $2 trillion.
