Microsoft announces new games for Windows Phone 7

New smartphones running the Windows Phone 7 operating system are expected within just a few weeks. In anticipation, Microsoft has announced a batch of around 50 mobile games at gaming showcase gamescom 2010 – and has also explained more about the way their phones will link with Xbox LIVE. As well as new games and versions of popular classics there'll alsobe companion titles to familiar Xbox 360 games.

Marc Whitten, corporate vice president of Xbox LIVE at Microsoft, said "We believe that no matter where life takes you, the best in gaming and entertainment should follow. Windows Phone 7 takes a different approach to handheld gaming, utilizing Xbox LIVE, Microsoft Game Studios, leading game publishers, and innovative indie developers, to create powerful, shared experiences for everyone."
