Motorola releases Q1 2010 results

Motorola has published financial results for the first quarter of 2010. Its Mobile Devices division sold $1.6 billion of products (down 9% year-on-year), made an operating loss of $192 million (much better than 2009) and shipped 8.5 million handsets (including 2.3 million smartphones). Overall, Motorola made a profit of $69 million; a dramatic change from a year ago, when it lost $231 million.
