Samsung makes the Galaxy S II official - and also reveals Galaxy Tab 10.1

Samsung Galaxy S IISamsung launched its Galaxy S II smartphone in Barcelona on Sunday night, just a few hours before the official opening of Mobile World Congress. It’ll be equipped with a Dual Core Processor and a 4.3-inch super AMOLED screen, yet will be less than 8.5mm deep. An 8 megapixel camera and full 1080p HD recording help to complete the spec. NFC will also be available in certain markets.

As well as offering consumer-focussed features, the Samsung Galaxy S II was also presented as a business smartphone. Its hardware is designed to support on-device encryption, with partnerships from Cisco and Sybase emphasising the enterprise aspects of the phone.

In addition, Samsung revealed a 10.1-inch tablet that’ll run Android version 3.0 (‘Honeycomb’). Like the Galaxy S II, this is also a dual-code device with a larger screen than its predecessor.
