Talkmobile, the UK virtual mobile network from The Carphone Warehouse, has launched a series of ‘pay monthly’ tariffs that include what’s being described as “unlimited mobile internet data”. The tariffs are being promoted with the headline “Never pay for the internet”.
Prices start from £12 per month for a two-year minimum term contract with a free phone plus 200 inclusive minutes and 200 inclusive texts per month. Available handsets on the £12 deal include the HTC Wildfire and the Sony Ericsson X8.
Terms and conditions note that “there is no limit on mobile internet usage on contracts which include ‘Unlimited’ data access” but also warn that a fair use policy may be introduced if excessive data use affects other users.
Mark Eastham, UK Trading Director at The Carphone Warehouse, said “The Talkmobile ‘Never Pay for the Internet’ demonstrates fantastic value and is unbeatable in the market. We wanted to offer customers a catch-free data tariff and we’re really looking forward to seeing the results of this trial. There’s no small print or fair usage policy so when we say unlimited internet access we really mean it. There’s a range of tariffs to suit all budgets and an impressive range of 30 smartphones to choose from when taking out a contract.”
Three UK and giffgaff both currently offer unlimited data on certain tariff deals.
