Redesigned Android Market is on the way

Google says a completely redesigned Android Market client is being rolled out to Android mobile phones. It’s expected to be available on all devices running v2.2 and above in the next few weeks.

The home screen has a new ‘tile’ format with a promotional page and the option to search for books and movies in countries where these services are available. There’ll also be country-specific lists of top apps in many regions.

Purchasing apps has been simplified as well, enabling consumers to complete a purchase in two clicks from the application details page.
