Ofcom is reported to be delaying its plans to auction radio spectrum that could be used for 4G mobile phone services. The auction was originally planned for earlier this year but is now unlikely to take place until late 2012.
Responses from a consultation process have prompted Ofcom to ask for further responses. However, some spectrum won’t be free until 2013, so the auction delay won’t necessarily slow the roll-out of 4G services in the UK.
