Orange has announced plans to introduce an Android-powered smartphone using the new Intel Atom Z2460 processor. The phone, which is currently codenamed ‘Orange Santa Clara,’ will be launched in the UK and France this summer.
Based on Intel’s smartphone reference design, the new Orange-branded handset is expected to have a 4-inch screen, an 8 megapixel camera and 16GB of memory. It’ll run Android’s Gingerbread platform at launch with a planned upgrade to Android’s v4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to follow.
