Vodafone UK has announced that it’ll be launching its 4G mobile data service in the UK on 29th August 2013; the same day as O2 launches 4G on its own network.

Full tariff details will be revealed on 12th August although Vodafone has already said SIM-only 4G deals will cost from £26 per month, while 24-month price plans with a 4G phone will cost from £34 a month. A choice of free music streaming from Spotify or online sports coverage from Sky will be available during the minimum term of the contract.

The Vodafone 4G service will be just available in London on 29th August, with Birmingham, Bradford, Coventry, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Leeds, Leicester, Liverpool, Manchester, Newcastle, Nottingham and Sheffield due to be added by the end of the year.

After decades of making PCs at a discount for more well-known foreign companies, Taiwan firms are using their manufacturing experience to design their own machines.
