Telefonica UK says it’s partnered with Jasper Wireless to deploy a market-leading platform that’ll help customers manage their machine-to-machine (M2M) connections. The two companies have been working together on M2M projects since last year.

This new cloud-based management platform will make it easier for customers to deploy, manage and support connected devices.

Gilli Coston, Head of M2M at Telefónica UK, said “The UK is seeing strong M2M growth as the Telefonica UK M2M team supports the development of the ecosystem and the development of new solutions within the “Internet of Things” such as Smart City deployments. As a result, we are witnessing a myriad of new connected devices from vendors and partners across every industry. With Jasper’s platform we can capitalise on this growth, providing our customers with enhanced services, such as instant activation, real-time diagnostics tools, and detailed billing and usage reports, which in turn allows us to guarantee exceptional customer support.”

O2 currently sells ‘Try and Play’ kits that include 3 Test SIMs with connectivity in 30 European countries, online controls, real-time testing tools and developer support.
