Nokia’s new flagship Lumia 928 device - described by the company as “a new expression of the world’s most innovative smartphone” - has been announced today. It’s launching as an exclusive product to Verizon Wireless in the USA.

The Nokia Lumia 928 runs a 1.5GHz dual-core chip with the Microsoft Windows Phone 8 platform and includes a 4.5-inch OLED display, an 8.7 megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation, powerful audio features and wireless charging.

Matt Rothschild, vice president for Nokia North America, said “Whether you're attending a party, a concert or a sporting event with friends, the Nokia Lumia 928 excels at capturing high-quality video, audio and blur-free photos of life’s most share-worthy moments. Verizon Wireless customers, we heard you and the wait is over - we’re excited to offer a Nokia flagship smartphone, specially designed and optimized for the nation’s largest 4G LTE network.”

Verizon Wireless will be selling the phone from 16th May for $99 ($149 with a $50 mail-in rebate) on a two-year agreement.
