Epic Games, the business behind online video game Fortnite, says it's taking legal action against Apple and Google after both companies removed the game from their application stores. Fortnite was removed after users were offered an option to pay directly for game features, which is against the rules of the Apple App Store and the Google Play Store.

As well as launching the legal action, Epic Games also created a spoof version of Apple's '1984' TV commercial, encouraging supporters to fight against Apple's decision. "Epic Games has defied the App Store Monopoly", the company said. "In retaliation, Apple is blocking Fortnite from a billion devices."

Both Apple and Google insist their own in-app payment services are used for payments within games and other applications. The app store owners then take a percentage of the payment. Although Fortnite is no longer available on Apple devices, it's still possible to install the app on Android devices via the Epic Games launcher.

Fortnite is described as the world’s largest game, with over 350 million accounts.

Mark Bridge writes:

The most memorable moments in life often go unrecorded. You don't have your camera in your hands. Your finger is still hovering over the 'pause' button on your audio recorder. Or you were simply too busy experiencing whatever was happening. It's all about the one that got away.

That's where Kapture can help.
