Qualcomm has announced its newest ‘Snapdragon 800’ mobile processors. The Snapdragon 810 and 808 chips are designed for for flagship smartphones and have been described as the company’s highest performing platform to date.
Both are 64-bit processors, which gives them a significant performance advantage over 32-bit chips, and support 4G LTE Advanced connectivity with a maximum theoretical data speed of 300Mbps. The higher-spec Snapdragon 810 processor also supports 4K Ultra HD video, HDR video and camera image sensors of up to 55 megapixels.

These product announcements, in combination with the continued development of our next-generation custom 64-bit CPU, will ensure we have a tremendous foundation on which to innovate as we continue to push the boundaries of mobile computing performance in the years to come.”
The Snapdragon 810 and 808 processors are expected to be available in commercial devices by the first half of 2015.
