Mark Bridge writes:

Clear Channel NFC poster siteIt's a hard life being an early adopter. Last week in London I walked past a bus shelter that displayed a sequence of posters. Next to the changing display panel was a blue NFC logo.

“For advertiser links and travel information touch your NFC enabled phone above”

I was there like a shot, brandishing my NFC-equipped Google Nexus S. At last, something practical I could do with my phone other than trying to read my Oyster card.

Would I get a movie clip promoting Avengers Assemble (as displayed on the adjacent poster)?

No.

Would I get more information about whatever brand of vodka was being advertised?

No.

Screenshot: Transport for London linkWould I be offered nothing but a link to Transport for London?

Yes.

Next time I won't bother.
