Vodafone is planning a takeover offer for Cobra Automotive Technologies, an Italian company that provides in-car connectivity and security technology.

Cobra provides pan-European telematics services to companies including Audi, Bentley, Ducati, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Maserati, Porsche and Renault. It also works on in-car technology with Kia, Hyundai, Toyota, Honda , Nissan, Volvo and Volkswagen.

The offer is expected to be launched in the next few weeks and would help Vodafone expand the range of machine-to-machine (M2M) services it offers business customers.
