Samsung Electronics has worked with The Football Association to become the ‘Official Consumer Electronics & Smartphone Supplier’ to the England football team.

It means the England men’s team and their support staff will head for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil with Samsung Galaxy S5 smartphones.

Andy Griffiths, president of Samsung Electronics UK & Ireland, said “We are thrilled to partner with the England football team ahead of what is set to be an exciting summer of football. Samsung has a long association with football both in the UK and globally and we’re delighted that this partnership adds to our on-going commitment to all football fans. We wish the England team the best of luck this summer and are proud that the players and staff will be equipped with the latest Samsung technology.”

Samsung is currently sponsoring Chelsea FC in the UK and also has commercial relationships with Real Madrid FC, Bayern Munich FC, Juventus FC and a number of national football associations. It’s also running football-related competitions for UK consumers.
