LG Electronics says it’s sold over 15 million smartphones in its Optimus L Series since launching them at Mobile World Congress last year, with one device being sold somewhere in the world every second during the past two months.

There’s now an upgraded range being prepared for an official launch at MWC 2013: the Optimus L SeriesII will comprise a number of devices with higher specifications than the original handsets and distinctive LED Lighting on the ‘home’ button.

First to appear will be a dual-SIM version of the Optimus L7II, which will make its first official appearance in Russia this week. It runs Android v4.1 on a 1GHz dual-core processor and has a 4.3-inch display plus an 8-megapixel camera. This will be followed by the smaller Optimus L3II and the Optimus L5II.

Dr Jong-seok Park, president and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company, said “LG has a history of pushing the envelope when it comes to style and Optimus L SeriesII builds on this heritage of design innovation. By evolving the sophisticated style and premium features of the original Optimus L Series, its sequel is expected to continue the popularity of the L Series around the world.”

Mark Bridge writes:

The most memorable moments in life often go unrecorded. You don't have your camera in your hands. Your finger is still hovering over the 'pause' button on your audio recorder. Or you were simply too busy experiencing whatever was happening. It's all about the one that got away.

That's where Kapture can help.
