UK rapper Professor Green will be the official ambassador for ZTE in 2012, having originally partnered with the Chinese telecoms business last year. The renewed partnership has seen Professor Green featured in the official unboxing video for ZTE’s new dual-core Grand X smartphone, which was launched this week.

ZTE’s Grand X runs Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) on an NVIDIA Tegra 2 dual-core chipset. It has a 4.3-inch screen and features Dolby Mobile Sound technology. It’ll be available through Phones 4u and Virgin Media stores from the beginning of August.

Wu Sa, director of mobile device operations for ZTE UK, said “ZTE mobile phones and Professor Green are appealing to a young market, so the partnership really makes sense for us. Professor Green is vibrant, hard-working, energetic and extremely talented, and these are qualities we also emulate as a brand. As a company, we are really looking at pushing the boundaries with our new products this year and making them accessible to our customers, and this aligns well with Professor Green’s personality. He is edgy, down-to-earth and likes to have fun - and our products support those values.”

He says next year will be a year of rapid change for telecoms… whether it’s MVNO disruption, competitive tariff pricing or simply defence from the ‘dark art’ of hacking.

ExclusiveKapture review: the audio-recording wristband

Mark Bridge writes:

The most memorable moments in life often go unrecorded. You don't have your camera in your hands. Your finger is still hovering over the 'pause' button on your audio recorder. Or you were simply too busy experiencing whatever was happening. It's all about the one that got away.

That's where Kapture can help.
