Vodafone has started rolling out Carrier Aggregation technology in the UK, which offers 4G users the ability to enjoy data speeds that are up to three times faster than conventional 4G connections.

Carrier Aggregation, also known as LTE Advanced (LTE-A) or 4.5G, allows network operators to combine parts of their radio spectrum for faster connections.

Although EE launched a trial LTE-A service in London last year, Vodafone is set to be the first UK network to offer a consumer LTE-A service. It’s initially offering the service in Birmingham, Manchester and London.

Fergal Kelly, Vodafone UK Technology Director, said “This clever technology is the next big step to deliver faster speeds per user and to increase the capacity so more customers can enjoy a great 4G experience when and where they want it.”

Customers will need a compatible mobile device to benefit from Carrier Aggregation, although Vodafone says the majority of handsets support the 800Mhz and 2.6GHz frequencies it’ll be using for LTE-A.

The most memorable moments in life often go unrecorded. You don't have your camera in your hands. Your finger is still hovering over the 'pause' button on your audio recorder. Or you were simply too busy experiencing whatever was happening. It's all about the one that got away.

That's where Kapture can help.
