Mark Bridge writes:

Samsung Electronics has announced the availability of the Galaxy WiFi multimedia device, with the 5-inch version available now and the 3.6-inch version due to arrive next month. Pricing is expected to start from £149.

The Samsung Galaxy WiFi contains most of the features of an Android smartphone... except for the phone part. It’s WiFi equipped with a 1 GHz processor and ‘Gingerbread’ version 2.3 of Android.

Given the current legal challenges taking place between Samsung and Apple, any comparison between the two companies’ products is unlikely to be appreciated. Let’s just say Apple has the iPad 2, the iPhone 4S and the iPod touch - while Samsung has the Galaxy Tab, the Galaxy IIS and now the Galaxy WiFi.
