Mobile payment service iZettle, which enables businesses to accept credit and debit card payments via a smartphone, is now able to process Japan Credit Bureau (JCB) cards in the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden, Norway and Finland. The company says this makes it the first mobile payment solution in Europe to accept JCB cards.

Business owners will pay a 2.75% transaction fee for JCB cards, which is the same rate as iZettle charges for American Express, Visa, MasterCard, V Pay, Electron, Diners and Maestro payments.

Jacob de Geer, co-founder and CEO of iZettle, said “We’re proud to add JCB to our accepted cards for our card readers. Millions of Asian tourists visit Europe every year especially in the summer. Now tourists don’t have to worry about carrying cash and iZettle customers don’t have to turn business away.”

iZettle’s services are EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) approved and are compliant with the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI DSS).

We spoke to iZettle CEO Jacob de Geer at Mobile World Congress last year. You can listen to the interview (which starts after around 12 minutes) via the built-in audio player below.

Mark Bridge writes:

The most memorable moments in life often go unrecorded. You don't have your camera in your hands. Your finger is still hovering over the 'pause' button on your audio recorder. Or you were simply too busy experiencing whatever was happening. It's all about the one that got away.

That's where Kapture can help.
