Samsung Unpacked event has revealed the company's new premium Android-powered smartphone range: the Samsung Galaxy S22 series, which includes the S22, S22+ and S22 Ultra.
As with previous devices, there's a strong focus on cameras and image technology: the Samsung S22 and S22+ have three cameras and the Galaxy S22 Ultra includes five. All use AI to respond to enhance image quality by adjusting lighting conditions and stabilising images.
Samsung's Galaxy S22 Ultra is effectively a continuation of the 'Note' phablet series, offering support for the S Pen stylus and featuring the company's largest-ever camera sensor. It has a 6.8-inch QHD+ display and a range of cameras from 108MP wide-angle to 10MP telephoto with optical zoom.
TM Roh, President and Head of the Samsung Electronics MX (Mobile eXperience) business said “At Samsung, we constantly push ourselves to raise the bar on our most premium devices. Galaxy S22 Ultra takes the beloved functionality of the Galaxy Note and the most celebrated aspects of the S series and merges them for a truly unique mobile experience. This is a leap forward for mobile technology, setting a new standard for what a smartphone can be.”
The company also launched a new Galaxy Tab S8 Ultra tablet with a 14.6-inch Super AMOLED display and updated its S8 and S8+ tablets.
