Cambridge-based Neul, which specialises in producing hardware to support the ‘Internet of Things’, is reported to have been acquired by Huawei.
Neul has been making headlines in recent years for its focus on so-called ‘white space’ wireless connections - unused gaps in the digital TV spectrum - rather than cellular machine-to-machine technology.
The deal is said to be worth £15 million.
Two years ago, Huawei said it planned to invest £1.3 billion in its UK operations during the following five years.
