China Telecom to launch UK MVNO with Everything Everywhere

Everything EverywhereEverything Everywhere says China Telecom (Europe) - the China Telecom subsidiary for the EMEA region - is going to launch an MVNO on its network in the next few months. It’s said to be the first time a Chinese telecom operator has launched its own virtual network outside China. The deal will run via Transatel, Everything Everywhere’s mobile virtual network aggregator.

The China Telecom (Europe) network will target Chinese residents and businesses in the UK, as well as students, tourists and other visitors.

Yan Ou, Managing Director of China Telecom (Europe), said “Entering the UK mobile market is a strategic move for China Telecom (Europe).  We selected Everything Everywhere based on the strength of its network, and Transatel’s proven track record of getting MVNOs up and running quickly and efficiently.  We are keen to launch the service in the UK as soon as possible as there is a real gap in the market for the  provision of tailored mobile services and competitive tariffs aimed at the growing Chinese population in the UK.”

Everything Everywhere now has 24 MVNO partners: Virgin, Three UK (H3G), Telecom Plus, Ikea, Vectone, Nowtel, Matrix, Econet, Lycamobile, Cable and Wireless, i-Pass, Talk Talk Business and Intercity all have a direct relationship with Everything Everywhere, while Axis Telecom, Unicom, Priyo, The Phone Co-Op, RMmobile, Shebang, Apollo, Zamir Telecom, Team SIM, Natterbox and China Telecom (Europe) connect through Transatel.
