A new agreement between National Parks England and the Mobile Operators Association is set to improve mobile phone coverage while remaining sensitive to the local environment.
It’s designed to improve connectivity for people who work in National Parks whilst protecting the special qualities of the area.
The Mobile Operators Association represents the four UK mobile network operators on planning and health & safety issues.
Ed Vaizey MP, Minister for Culture, Communications and Creative Industries, said “Our National Parks are areas of incredible beauty but they are also places where people live and work. They need access to the modern communications that many of us have taken for granted for years. The new agreement could make a real difference to those who live, work or visit our glorious National Parks.”
Almost 10% of England is covered by its National Parks.
