Carphone Warehouse to offer mobile security software with every Android phone

From Monday, Carphone Warehouse will be offering half-price Norton Mobile Security software with every new Android handset it sells in the UK. It’s the result of a partnership agreement between Carphone Warehouse and Symantec Corporation.

Norton Mobile Security, which has a suggested retail price of £29.99, will be offered for £14.99 with a new phone. Features include remote location, remote locking and remote deletion, along with the ability to block unwanted calls and texts.

Simon Ellson, Senior Director for Consumer Sales at Norton, said “Consumers are familiar with protecting their PC or laptop, but with the growing number of phones used to access the internet for online banking and social media, as well as storing personal details and photos, it is imperative that they protect their mobile devices too. Our new partnership with Europe’s largest mobile reseller, Carphone Warehouse, will put industry leading Norton protection on every new Android handset sold, making it easier than ever to protect the Stuff that matters.”
