Foursquare adds photos and comments

FoursquareMobile location-based social network Foursquare has added the ability for users to annotate their posts with photos and comments. The option is already available on the new Foursquare iPhone application and will be added to the Foursquare Android app later this week. Apps for WebOS, BlackBerry and other mobile operating systems are expected to be updated early next year.

A number of Foursquare partners – including Instagram, Foodspotting and picplz – have already integrated the photo feature.

Making mobile websites work better

Device detection and responsive design explained

Mark Bridge writes:

James Rosewell shows me a colourful roll of paper that's the width of an iPhone but well over three metres long. When I look closer, I can see it's a printed copy of the Wall Street Journal's mobile website. That's a lot of scrolling to do... and a pretty unfriendly user experience for anyone reading the news online. Why does it work so badly?
