New CEO for 'feelscreen' company Senseg

Senseg, the Finnish company that enables smartphone and tablet screens to offer different textures when touched, has appointed Paul Costigan as its Chief Executive Officer. Mr Costigan will be based in Senseg’s Taiwan headquarters.

Paul Costigan was previously the chief operating officer and Asia-Pacific region president for video processor business Movidius, although he’s probably best known as co-founder and CEO of fabless semiconductor firm Massana.

He said “There are very few opportunities to lead the growth of a revolutionary technology company, and Senseg provides that rare moment. I am thrilled to join such a talented group of individuals as we prepare to enter the market with innovations in the field of haptics that will transform the user experience with touch interface devices. By developing a fully-functional solution in a tablet form factor Senseg has reached an impressive milestone, yet considerable work remains before we’re ready for mass production. I look forward to ensuring that our solution meets OEM requirements, and developing the market for this new kind of touch sensation.”

Predictions for 2016: Network Function Virtualisation, 4G throttling and video calling

Mark Windle, head of marketing at OpenCloud, predicts that this year’s reduction in the number of traditional telecoms operators in some countries will provide an opportunity for other operators to innovate and capture market share in 2016.

When I look closer, I can see it's a printed copy of the Wall Street Journal's mobile website. That's a lot of scrolling to do... and a pretty unfriendly user experience for anyone reading the news online. Why does it work so badly?
