Orange launches its all-in-one internet communication app on Android

Joyn compatibility due later this year

Libon, the Orange mobile app that offers free VoIP calls along with messaging and voicemail, has now been launched on Android. The iOS version of the app was released last year. Both apps are available in the UK to customers on any network.

Orange also says Libon will become joyn-compatible later this year, which means it’ll link with other Rich Communication Services that use the GSMA’s joyn standard.

Giles Corbett, Head of Libon at Orange Vallée, said “The launch of Libon on Android was an absolute must. It’s overtaken iOS numbers in the smartphone OS wars and we’re very excited to finally offer something to the thousands of users who have been asking about this. This is just the start for our Android version. Stay tuned for more functionalities in the coming weeks including the introduction of our premium offering. We’re fully committed to making Libon the most powerful communications app on Android and iOS available today.”

The Android Libon app offers free HD voice calls between Libon users, instant messaging and personalised voicemail with text transcription.
