Everything Everywhere says AGA Rangemaster has selected its M2M Management Platform and Orange UK SIM cards for the new AGA iTotal Control oven. The oven offers remote control via an Android or Apple iOS app, a web browser or text message. It goes on sale in the UK from 1st June and will cost £10,090 plus £5.95 per month for the machine-to-machine connection.
Customers who aren’t able to use the apps can text a simple command, such as ‘roasting oven on’ or ‘all ovens off’. The oven will send a confirmation reply when the action has been taken.
AGA will be able to manage its SIM cards via the Everything Everywhere M2M Management Platform, which can also be integrated with customer service systems. It’s currently invested in 250 SIM cards from Orange.
Richard Fozard, Marketing Director for AGA Rangemaster, said “Everything Everywhere has the biggest 3G network in the UK, which means our customers can be in contact with their new AGA iTotal Control ovens from more places, more of the time. Integrating a new technology like M2M with a well-known traditional cooker like an AGA has been an incredibly exciting project for us. Working with the Everything Everywhere team to be at the forefront of innovation, and taking advantage of new technologies on the market such as M2M, is something we’re very proud of.”
