The UK’s tech and digital industry appears to be growing strongly, with Sunday’s Silicon Milkroundabout jobs fair in London rapidly filling up. It’ll see over 100 start-up companies offering 500 + developer jobs with salaries of up to £100,000.
London’s first Silicon Milkroundabout was held in May this year, welcoming over 400 attendees and 45 participating companies.
This time, the number of companies has more than doubled - and so has the number of job-seekers. Over a thousand people pre-registered to attend, filling the initial quota of visitors. However, the organisers have just released a final phase of registrations, inviting both graduates and experienced engineers to register and attend.
Companies looking for new talent at the fair include Songkick, Just Eat, Moshi Monsters, Shazam, Just Giving and Graze.
Ian Hogarth, co-founder and CEO of organisers Songkick.com, said “The Stone Roses sold out two gigs on Friday in 90 minutes. We’re in the same boat. They added another gig and we’ve managed to open up some new places, but after this, that’s it. Demand has been sensational and it’s going to be a terrific day - hopefully a life-changing day for many of the graduates there.”
The family-friendly jobs fair takes place at the Truman Brewery on Brick Lane in Shoreditch between 11am and 5pm on Sunday 30th October. Attendees can listen to rolling ‘lightning pitches’, enjoy the free bar and find the engineering teams of the companies that interest them the most.
