Nokia has launched a new budget-priced music phone that’s intended to retail at €34 (around £30). However it looks as though the Nokia X1-00 is destined for developing markets rather than the UK, with initial availability expected from next month.
The Nokia X1 is equipped with a large rear-mounted loudspeaker rated at 106 phon; loud enough to rattle window frames (or to cause permanent hearing damage!)
Nokia says the X1’s volume is designed to cut through ambient noise and to serve as the main music player at home.
Standby battery life is a maximum 61 days. Talk time is up to 13 hours and music playback is up 38 hours.
The phone can also support five separate phone books, making it suitable for sharing between family members or friends, and runs the Series 30 operating system. Dimensions are 112 x 47 x 16mm; weight is 91g.
