Everything Everywhere, which runs the UK networks of T-Mobile and Orange, has announced its financial results for the final quarter and full year of 2011. It says service revenue was up 2.1% if the effects of Mobile Termination Rate cuts are ignored - or down 2.1% when the impact of MTR cuts is included.
By the end of the year the company had gained 894,000 ‘pay monthly’ customers; a 7.5% year-on-year increase. Machine-to-machine connections were up 400,000 in the year and now exceed 1 million.
Olaf Swantee, Chief Executive Officer of Everything Everywhere, said “Our focus on operational excellence has generated solid performance over the year as we accelerated network and organisational integration to deliver planned cost savings. As a result of network sharing and customer experience improvements, we are seeing good commercial momentum and are capitalising on the smartphone and data opportunity to drive underlying growth.”
