HERE CEO Michael Halbherr to leave Nokia

Michael Halbherr, the CEO of Nokia’s location business HERE, is stepping down from his role at the end of the month. He says he’s planning to focus on his entrepreneurial activities in the future.

Dr Halbherr had been at Nokia since 2006, having previously held roles at companies including Boston Consulting Group, investment business Europatweb and mapping specialist gate5.

Cliff Fox, currently Senior Vice President of the Core Map Group at HERE, will become acting head of HERE from 1st September.

Rajeev Suri, Nokia’s CEO, said “I would like to thank Michael for his leadership, passion and achievements during his eight years with Nokia. He has played a key role in making HERE one of the strongest players in its sector, with a depth and breadth that is unique. He leaves with my best wishes and the gratitude of all of Nokia.”

Facebook is a mobile company – are you?

A quick fact: nearly half of Facebook’s advertising revenue now stems from mobile ads.

That’s right – of the social network’s $1.8 billion (£1.1 billion) generated in the third quarter of 2013, 49% of it was made up of mobile advertising revenue. Last year, the channel represented only 14%.
