Secure mobile voice calling provider Cellcrypt has launched a secure conference call service. As well as encrypting the voice call to prevent unauthorised 'listening in', it also authenticates each device to ensure that only authorised people can join the call.
Simon Bransfield-Garth, Cellcrypt's CEO, said "Conference calls by their very nature typically contain some of the most sensitive and confidential information an organisation has. These calls are highly desirable to attackers, who know just how valuable the information is. As the risk of cellular interception has increased so has the vulnerability of mobile executives accessing conference calls from the mobile phones. Organisations should urgently review their communications practices and act to protect their mission-critical conference calls."
The conference calling service is compatible with Cellcrypt-enabled BlackBerry and Nokia smartphones. Participants simply call a pre-agreed 'bridge number' from their handset. Fixed-line office phones can also participate in secure conference calls via Cellcrypt’s Enterprise Gateway solution.
