3.4% of worldwide ad spending will be on mobile in 2015

A new research report from Berg Insight predicts that the global mobile marketing and advertising market will grow from €1.7 billion last year to €13.5 billion in 2015, representing a compound annual growth rate of 41%. That’ll correspond to 15.7% of the total digital ad market and 3.4% of the total global spend for all advertising media.

Rickard Andersson, Telecom Analyst at Berg Insight, said “Handsets are extremely personal devices which people tend to always have within reach and most often switched on. This enables marketing opportunities which other channels lack. Brands do however have to establish mobile strategies in order to spend wisely and capitalise on the potential the channel brings.”
