Texting while driving is stupid – but people still do it. Not just drivers but train operators too. In fact, mobile voice control company Vlingo has just published a report that says over a quarter of US mobile users text when driving. 59% of mobile phone users in the United States now use their handsets to send text messages, which is up from 54% in 2008. Teenagers are at the top of the scale, with 94% of them using their mobiles for text – and sending an average 500 messages per month. [Press release (pdf)]
