UK mobile advertising revenue to grow 840% in next five years

Revenue from the UK mobile advertising market is expected to grow 840% in the next five years, from £27.47 million this year to £258.27 million by 2015, according to new data from research agency mobileSQUARED.

Currently the mobile banner ad market is the largest segment, worth £12.96 million, with search worth £9.86 million. However, search revenue is expected to overtake banner spending by 2012.

In addition, revenue from opt-in mobile messaging advertisements is expected to increase dramatically, driving mobile messaging ad revenue from £2.93 million this year to £60.99 million in 2015.
