Telefonica launches its own ebook reader

Network operator Telefónica has launched an ebook reader on the Movistar network in Spain. The device is called the ebook bq and will go on sale next week.

Movistar’s ebook bq, which is being produced in conjunction with Mundo Reader, will launch as a WiFi device with a 6-inch e-ink display. Retail pricing is 169 Euro (around £150).

Telefonica is the parent company of the UK’s O2 network.
