Microsoft CEO sets out plans and ambitions for the company

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella has published a memo to all company employees. As Microsoft starts a new financial year, Mr Nadella referred to his previous comments about Microsoft needing to rediscover its soul.

He said the company would be talking about engineering and organisation changes this month, with a further public announcement expected on 22nd July alongside Microsoft’s quarterly earnings results.

Frequently using the phrases ‘mobile first’ and ‘cloud first’, he says “We're really in the infant stages of the mobile-first world”. He goes on to talk about interconnected and contextual data, the value of gaming to the company and the importance of consumer privacy.

“At our core,”, he says, “Microsoft is the productivity and platform company for the mobile-first and cloud-first world. We will reinvent productivity to empower every person and every organization on the planet to do more and achieve more.”
