ExclusiveYota announces new smartphone with a touch screen on each side

Yota Devices, which was showing a dual-screen Android smartphone at Mobile World Congress last year, has unveiled its new YotaPhone today.

The new phone has larger screens than last year's model and has added touch-control to the e-ink side, offering more interactivity. It means users can receive notifications when the main screen is off - and can then respond to them.

Dixons Retail plc and Carphone Warehouse plc have confirmed they’re are in preliminary discussions about a possible merger.

Dixons operates over 1,100 stores and online services across 16 countries, while Carphone Warehouse has around 2,000 stores but a smaller European footprint.

Sony Mobile has started Mobile World Congress with two new smartphones and a new tablet.

The Sony Xperia Z2 smartphone runs Android on a 2.3GHz Qualcomm processor. There’s a 20.7 megapixel camera sensor and 4K video recording, plus a 5.2-inch full HD display. In addition, the handset - just 8.2mm deep - incorporates digital noise reduction and is waterproof to IP58.

Samsung has announced its next generation of ‘smart watch’ devices: the Samsung Gear 2 and Gear 2 Neo. They follow in the footsteps of the Galaxy Gear, which was launched last September.

Both are based on the Tizen operating system.
